Circular patches 5 to 17 cm in diameter with the presence of pink or grey moss. Appears in the spring as the snow melts.
Organism responsible
Disease known as snow mold.
Preventive measures
Snow mold will disappear with the return of warm, dry weather. The disease rarely causes major damage to residential lawns and therefore does not require specific control methods.
